Child Molestation Case

Former missionary faces hearing date
In Brief
Review - Journal

A former Mormon missionary accused of molesting two children in Las Vegas has a preliminary hearing date set for Dec. 2.

John Misseldine, 21, was not in court early Wednesday when Justice of the Peace William Jansen set the December hearing date. Misseldine's attorney, Robert Draskovich, said Misseldine's appearance was not required for Wednesday's court proceedings.

Authorities said Misseldine was arrested in May on allegations he molested two girls, ages 7 and 4, at a Mormon Church at 1775 N. Christy Lane. He faces one count of sexual assault with a minor and two lewdness counts.

Draskovich said he is confident Misseldine will be cleared.

At the conclusion of the preliminary hearing in December, Jansen will decide whether there is enough evidence to send Misseldine's case to District Court for trial.
